 Ford Escape
The results are in on this Bold Move: Escape is the best-selling small SUV in America. And there is a lot of evidence to back it up: This SUV is small outside and Big inside. It has a 60/40 split bench seat in the back that makes it easy to reconfigure the cargo area for hauling just about anything. The available Intelligent 4WD System is always on, monitors traction and automatically adjusts torque distribution as necessary. The potent, available 200-hp V6 engine and its automatic transmission feature smooth shifting, great launch feel, and smooth idle. Towing capability is 3,500 lbs. when properly equipped. This V6 is standard on XLT Sport and Limited, and available on XLT.
Escape Hybrid was the first full hybrid SUV in the world. It was named “North American Truck of the Year” at the 2005 Detroit International Auto Show for combining traditional vehicle performance with the efficiency of hybrid technology. More recently, Edmunds.com ranked it as the “Most Fuel-Efficient SUV for 2006.” The electric motor alone is capable of moving the vehicle smoothly and efficiently up to 25 mph. However, it can combine with the gasoline engine to provide added boost when accelerating off the line and when passing. It helps provide V6-like acceleration and a sporty 155 horsepower. |

Ford Sport Trac
Sport Trac has made the Bold Move to give you more of everything for 2007. More strength. More room. More power. You might say it’s solid proof that “more is better.” Let’s start with more safety: This SUV received a government 5-Star crash test rating for all four crash seating positions. And… a Five-Star Rating for Frontal crash. And…The Five-Star Rating for Side-Impact crash. To help achieve all that, they made the vehicle 427% stiffer, thanks to an all-new fully boxed frame with more than 5 times greater torsional rigidity. That means improved agility and responsive handling. To add to this, there’s standard RSC software – plus an anti-lock braking system, traction control and yaw control. These dynamically enhance stability. Under the hood, the available 4.6L 3-valve V8 and 6-speed transmission is all with 292 hp and 300 lb-ft. of torque – that’s 42% more than before! Inside, a more spacious interior now provides comfort for all passengers. It includes an automatic floor shifter, and a new instrument panel with 2-line message center display. For music, the Audiophile® Sound System has a new 8” subwoofer with 190-watt amplifier plus 6-disc CD changer and navigation system. For 120 channels of entertainment, SIRIUS Satellite Radio is available. Another forward-looking idea is the new, optional heated windshield. It uses microthin tungsten heating elements embedded in the glass to keep your vision clear. The 26.7% larger cargo bed has a corrosion-proof, sheet-molded composite exterior. It is also deeper and has three integrated tie-down hooks on each side rail. The available add-on cargo cage Bed Extender allows you to open Sport Trac’s tailgate and use it to expand cargo room… or section-off the cargo box when the tailgate is closed. |

Ford Explorer
Ford Explorer was a Bold Move when it first appeared. And it’s even Bolder now…offering one of the greatest values in its class given its innovation, features, content, power, safety, comfort and value. It has literally set the bar when it comes to the design of sport utility vehicles in America. In 2006 and 2007, this SUV received a 5-star crash test rating for all four crash seating positions. It also helps protect you with its standard Intelligent Safety System and standard side-impact airbags. Your peace of mind is enhanced through the patented Safety Canopy™ System, offering improved 1st- and 2nd-row outboard occupant protection. It is standard on Eddie Bauer and Limited and available on XLT. Adaptive dual-stage front airbags use a venting system that tailors airbag size to occupant size. Plus, the front passenger's airbag features a first-in-class adaptive airbag tether to help tailor airbag shape and size to the passenger's needs. Second row seats fold out of the way to allow easy access to the available 3rd-row seating, featuring a 50/50 split design with manual or optional PowerFold operation. In the optional 7-passenger seating configuration, the 2nd-and 3rd-row seatbacks fold and tumble out of the way. The available DVD-based Navigation System features class-exclusive intersection programming that calls out upcoming street names, rather than just telling you which direction to turn. The 4.6L V8 uses 3-valve technology to help produce 292 horsepower and 300 ft.-lb. of torque. It’s teamed with a first-in-class 6-speed automatic transmission. In extreme driving situations, standard AdvanceTrac with first-in-class Roll Stability Control to helps make those situations less difficult. AdvanceTrac with RSC is an electronic stability enhancement system consisting of anti-lock brake system, traction control, yaw control and a vehicle-roll motion sensor. Through computer-control, they give you greater driving control and peace of mind when you get behind the wheel in any driving situation. |
